About Trail West

We’re Kate and Greg. We live in a little mountain town in Colorado at 9,000 feet with West and River – our 3 year old and puppy. Our lives revolve around getting outdoors, but trying to find advice on camping with a three month old that fit our lifestyle was a feat more epic than all the mountains we have climbed. 

So when our son West was born, we just went on intuition. We covered thousands of trail and road trip miles with him in his first year of life. We camped. We traveled. We learned. But yeah, we would have appreciated some help. 

You can read a lot of stuff about having kids…a lot. You can buy high tech gear to get your kid to sleep. You can buy books on what and when they should eat. For everything, a book, a gadget, a sure-fire solution. Except for our biggest fear – losing our ability to adventure in the wild and travel the world.
